Overeaters Anonymous

Always to Extend the Hand & Heart of OA

Baton Rouge Intergroup of Overeaters Anonymous

What is OA?
Overeaters Anonymous is...
a fellowship of individuals who, through shared experience, strength and hope, are recovering from compulsive overeating. We welcome everyone who wants to stop eating compulsively. There are no dues or fees for members; we are self-supporting through our own contributions, neither soliciting nor accepting outside donations. OA is not affiliated with any public or private organization, political movement, ideology or religious doctrine, we take no postion on outside issues. Our primary purpose is to abstain from compulsive overeating and to carry this message of recovery to those who still suffer.

Fifteen Questions to determine if you are and if the fellowship of Overeaters Anonymous can help you.

If you have any questions about the OA program, you can call our Baton Rouge Overeaters Anonymous Hotline at (225) 751-0259. You will receive a message containing the names and phone numbers of members you can call. You can also email any questions you have to
oaworks@oabatonrouge.org.

The OA recovery program is...
patterned after that of Alcoholics Anonymous. We use AA's Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions, changing only the words "alcohol" and "alcoholic" to "food" and "compulsive overeater."
