LOCAL/BRIG/REGION 8 NEWS

Our ANNUAL GRATITUDE DINNER, a Baton Rouge Thanksgiving tradition, is taking place next Saturday November 17th at Jefferson United Methodist Church from 6:00-8:00.  We share our food and our blessings with those who have trudged the road of happy destiny with us for the past year, discuss the gratitude we have to the program, and enjoy warmth and fellowship.  One of the best events of the year.  Potluck.

On Thanksgiving day, in lieu of the regular 7pm meeting the group will be hosting an "OA-a-Thon" from 6pm - 9 pm with coffee and tea available.  After, 7, please call Jan B before you come to ensure the group is still going strong (usually it goes quite a while!)

"NEW" MEETING:  The Friday meeting at Trinity Episcopal Church (in the Common Room in the church office) has re-opened but will now take place at 6:30 p.m.

INTERGROUP: The next BRIG meeting will be held on December 15th,  at 11:45 at Jefferson United Methodist Church.  We will be electing new officers and need as much representation from the group meetings as possible!  Please come and be a part of something greater than yourself, and make new friends!

SERVICE IS SLIMMING!!  One of the most valuable tools of recovery in OA is Service.  OA has no leaders, only trusted servants and our group conscience, and EVERYONE's presence is welcomed at the monthly Intergroup meetings.   There are many opportunities for service. BRIG ordinarily meets the second Saturday of each month.

LAST GASPERS:  The "last gaspers" meeting is on Saturday mornings at 10:30.  The listed address is 1824 Hood Ave., BR 70802 but the location will vary so please call the contact, Madeline, at 225-336-9871 to confirm the location before you attend.  This is a Big Book focused meeting.

SUNDAY MEETING - NEW LOCATION:  The Sunday 4:30 meeting has moved from University Methodist to University Presbyterian Church (3240 Dalrymple Dr.) in the conference room.
